Goodbyes

Updated: Sep 17, 2022

Love will always bloom

And often we find break-ups our doom

So when I asked for my hat back-

I knew our love lay in ruins.

But you also brought back a plaque

Adorned with a love track

And a photo of us embracing.

It was covered in dust,

Did you feel our love turn to rust?

[slowly gathering unease over time]

But a place was wiped cleaned

And through the dust

A place that gleamed

Caught my eye.

Letting my know you’ll reminisce just like I.

You had cleared the dust off our faces

To show us in a different space.

[I thought I had gotten over everything that made me cry.]

Why does the hardest lesson have

to be where to draw the lines.
